Mahila Industrial Training Institute, Jodhpur has been established with an objective of ensuring a steady flow of skilled women to reduce unemployment amongst the educated girls by equipping them with required discipline, education and skill for suitable industrial employment as well as self-employment. Also enable them to identify and enhance their multifaceted talents with firm and focused mind with an eye to equip themselves to face future challenges of global competitions.
It has been set-up under the Craftsman Training Scheme affiliated to National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), through the Directorate General of Employment and Training (DGE&T), Govt. of India under the ministry of Labour, New Delhi. It has been established on February 8, 1990 in the premises of production centre and later shifted to its own campus on Shri Krishna Janmstmi of Vikram Samvat 2058, Sukla Chaturdashi of Magha in Pushya Nakshatr i.e. August 12th, 2001.
The Campus is spread over an area of 12 acres out of which the constructed area is 2600 sq.meters with basic amenities. The span area with wide greenery provides a wonderful sight to whoever visits the institute. The Vastness of the Campus indicates the possibilities of running other courses apart from existing vocational trades
It is situated near Saras Dairy, opposite Rajasthan Udhyog and at a distance of 4 Km. from Jodhpur Railway Station. The location is close to well-developed Heavy Industrial Area. Many of the handicrafts exporting Industries, Boy's I.T.I., Model I.T.I. and some of the Govt. Institutions are in the vasinity of the location of the institute. The location is well equipped with adequate infrastructure and is conductive of providing a better ambience to the project. The site is well connected with public transport facilities as it is on the way of main Shastri Circle and I.T.I. Chauraha.
